Caring for Your Equestrian Lifestyle Clothing
Our Equestrian Lifestyle clothing is proudly made in New Brunswick, Canada, using two different techniques: heat transfer vinyl and direct to film transfers. The heat transfer vinyl we use is not only thin, but also super soft for a comfortable feel. To keep the designs looking fresh, we recommend washing the garment inside out with warm or cool water, and either tumble dry on a low temperature or hang it up to dry. Just a little reminder, please avoid ironing directly on the design.
It's important to note that anything that causes the material to shrink may result in wrinkles on the design. To minimize this, we carefully select pre-shrunk garments. However, there may still be a little shrinkage when washing and drying at high temperatures. Personally, I treat my own Equestrian Lifestyle pieces just like any other clothing and haven't encountered any issues.
I am now using the "Direct to film" printing process to add even more vibrant colors to my designs. The films used are printed in Nova Scotia and then lovingly applied right here at my home in New Brunswick.
DTF, or Direct to Film, is a new technology which allows a design to be printed, with specially formulated inks, onto special clear polyester film. A powder adhesive coating is then applied. A heat press activates the adhesive, allowing the image to bond securely with the clothing. Once the heat press is lifted, the film is cooled and peeled away, and a vibrant, full-color image has been perfectly transferred.
About Equestrian Lifestyle
Equestrian Lifestyle, a trademarked brand, was created by Sue Bulman, a veterinarian and owner of the online tack store, The Hitching Ring, and the newer Equestrian Life Market. Equestrian Lifestyle is located in Miramichi, NB. Sue's passion for horses began at a young age when she was an active member of the pony club throughout elementary school and college. Though her university years kept her busy, Sue always made time for riding lessons and leased horses during the summer. It wasn't until after completing her vet school journey that Sue finally fulfilled her dream of owning her first horse—a beautiful chestnut quarter horse mare. As the family acquired land and built a small horse facility in Napan, just outside Miramichi, their equine family grew to include a total of 5 horses. Sue's daughter, Meagan, also shares her love for riding and has been an equestrian enthusiast since early childhood.
In 2007, The Hitching Ring was born with Sue's aim to earn some extra cash for her horse passion. Sue has always been a crafty person, finding joy in knitting, sewing, and even making chainmaille jewelry to express her creativity. Initially, she purchased a digital diecutter (KNK Force) for family gifts and household crafts, but it soon sparked inspiration. In 2017, Sue launched the Equestrian Lifestyle brand of clothing, turning her craft room into a small business office. The clothing brands she personally handpicks never compromise on softness, durability, and affordability; she stays away from using cheap cotton shirts. Sue is fully involved in the entire process, from designing to applying the final touches on each garment. So, when you purchase an Equestrian Lifestyle product, you can guarantee that it's a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted piece instead of a mass-produced item.
