About Equestrian Lifestyle
Equestrian Lifestyle was created by veterinarian and lifelong horse lover Sue Bulman in Miramichi, New Brunswick. What began as a creative outlet grew into a Canadian equestrian apparel brand built around original designs, carefully chosen garments, and a genuine love of the horse lifestyle.
Today, each piece is designed and finished in small batches using DTF, sublimation, and in-house laser engraving — made by a horse person, for horse people.
Equestrian Lifestyle is a trademarked Canadian brand created by Sue Bulman, a veterinarian, lifelong horse lover, and owner of The Hitching Ring, now Equestrian Life Market, online tack shop. Based in Miramichi, New Brunswick, the brand grew from Sue's love of horses, creativity, and desire to create apparel that genuinely reflects the equestrian lifestyle.
Sue's passion for horses began at a young age through Pony Club and continued throughout university and veterinary school. After graduating, she finally fulfilled her dream of owning her first horse, a chestnut Quarter Horse mare. As Sue and her family developed their small horse property in Napan, just outside Miramichi, their equine family eventually grew to five horses. Her daughter, Meagan, also grew up sharing that love of horses and riding.
In 2007, Sue started The Hitching Ring as a way to help support what every horse person knows can be a rather expensive passion. Always creative, with interests ranging from sewing and knitting to jewelry making, Sue eventually added a digital cutting machine to her craft room. What began as a tool for personal projects soon sparked an entirely new idea.
In 2017, Equestrian Lifestyle was born.
Today, Sue designs Equestrian Lifestyle apparel specifically for horse people who understand that horses aren't simply a hobby—they're a way of life. Garments are carefully selected with an emphasis on softness, comfort, durability and fair pricing, rather than choosing inexpensive blanks simply to keep costs down.
Production has evolved over the years as well. Sue now creates apparel using DTF (Direct-to-Film) transfers and sublimation, allowing for detailed, colourful designs across a variety of garments. She has also expanded into custom ball caps featuring laser-engraved hat patches, which she engraves herself.
From developing the artwork and selecting the garments to decorating and finishing the products, Sue remains personally involved in the process. Equestrian Lifestyle isn't mass-produced apparel created by a company disconnected from the horse world. It is a small-batch Canadian brand created by a horse person, for horse people.
